I currently work with a young girl who is thinking about giving her baby up for adoption at birth. I have a 4yr old daughter and I am seriously thinking about adopting her baby. I'm 28 but I am not married I've been with my boyfriend for 7yrs. I'm really not sure how it works with an open adoption. I think it would be easier for her knowing me and keeping in touch regarding her baby. Any advise would be helpful.

I'd like to adopt internationally, maybe from Ethiopia, but only if it can be a truly open, ethical adoption. My lawyer tells me that's impossible. Is she right?

I'd be interested in seeing more information for potential adoptive parents in the process of writing their profiles/"Dear Expectant Parent" letters. My spouse and I are working on our profile right now and looking for advice on how to convey our desire for openness.
