    • ]]>     I am an adoptive mom of a 21 month old girl. We have a semiopen adoption. We are in the process of adopting a second child. With our first adoption we were able to meet the birthparents and ask questions that we felt maggie would want to know about, but it was hard and we were not sure what questions the birthparents would find uncomfortable. We are better now, but are also looking to see what other people might ask. Thanks for your help.

    • ]]>     I am a single mother of three.  I am also 30 weeks pregnant.  I decided on adoption the moment I found out, but I am now having doubts.  I do not have much of a support system and have already chosen a family for my child.  I am just now doubting my decision because I am worried that I may not have thought it out enough.  If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it as I have no one to confide in.

    Every family is different, so I won’t lay it all out, but basically everyone gets along well enough, although we are not all that close; our niece has told her (divorced) parents her situation.  They are unenthusiastic, but not really opposed.

    What are the pitfalls of an adoption like this?  How hard (or perhaps great) do you think it would be for everyone to have us raising this child?  No one’s identity would be a secret. . .
