Want to make your own group?

You can use the Open Adoption Support site to create your own network. Just go to "create content" and create a group. You can make your group open to anyone (even putting it on the registration page so people see it when they create an account), give it a listing in the directory or make it invite only and absolutely hidden.

Your group makes it easy to communicate with other people with similar interests. Anytime a member of your group creates content, he or she will have the option to post it publicly, to the group and the public, or just to the group. (He or she can also crosspost to more than one group.) Other members can login to the group homepage to read and comment on the new content.

You can also create a livechat associated with your group. Again, go to "create content" only this time choose "chat room" (this option isn't listed in the side menu -- you'll see it on the page list). Make the chat room associated with your group and voila! You can chat in real time. If your group is open to all, you can post a scheduled chat as an event in our calendar.

You don't need an administrator's permission to create a group -- please feel free to use Open Adoption Support as your resource to building your adoption-related community. After all, that's why I built it!
