We are preparing to celebrate our first mothers day with our daughter’s first/birth mom. Any ideas about gifts? Also, Unfortunately we have a college graduation out of state we are attending Mothers Day weekend so our visit has been pushed back to the weekend after, should we give it to her in person when we visit or mail it so it is there on the actual day?
Any ideas about gifts for Mother’s Day for my daughter’s first/birth mom?

This year we are doing rings…with their child’s birth date stamped on it. This Etsy seller has awesome customer service and a super quick turn around! I love them!

I like to something child oriented, like you could do hand stamps or foot stamps or a photo album from shutterfly–those are awesome too. Willow tree statues. I have a bunch of jewelers that I have bought from in the past.
Another favorite is http://www.deirdreandcompany.com/
I love the “you are loved” ornaments and necklace. She has some great adoption jewelry too all at affordable and reasonable prices.
Thank you so much! I love your suggestions and bought one of the linked pieces. Great find thank you for sharing.
I second the above ideas, and I have to say that, as a first (birth) mom myself, I personally never excepted any kind of gifts, except maybe a nice card…
But that’s probably just me.
Thank you Cindy I will make sure that I get a handwritten note in the mail today so it makes it to her before Sunday, along with the small gift being sent directly to her.
We ordered a bouquet of flowers for our daughter’s birthmom, and we’re sending her two cards plus a little handprint painting that our daughter made.
I think I would send her the gifts so that she received them in time for Mother’s Day (even though you’re going to see her soon after.)
Thank you for your reply <3
er comment.
You are wonderful people! When my daughter was 17, we gave her son to loving parents. That day still haunts.
Th sad part? The adopted parents have not kept in touch! My grandson is now 13!! You are wonderful for being grateful to the birth-mother.
We would give anything to see ours!
My son’s mom and dad send me pics, cards; and crafts he makes. It’s more the thought than the actual package. I love and cherish everything they send. Which I’m sure your child’s birth mom will be just as appreciative. I’d mail it so she would have it on that day.
<3 Thank you.
Many ideas! We have a lot planned for everyone. The mission gives out updates /gifts/surprise online chats all throughout the mothers day weekend. my fav is the cards I made. I Made them because my ap,s don’t send me anything and I at least want other parents to know how much there is to say and that we would want to hear from them. I made videos about this years booms day on my YouTube also.
Great blog! I love nice adoptive parents…

We stress the birth mother aspect to our mission, because we feel it is what makes us a unique organization and allows us to truly “tell it like it is” to women just like ourselves. Unfortunately we missed out on a birth mom mentor but we saw the need for this. We can think of no greater satisfaction than to help women in the future that experience an unexpected or crisis pregnancy and choose life.
But no birth mom fits a cookie cutter image, and the mission is a chance for all of us to get together share stories and
