I am trying to find my biological sister who I was separated from when my birthmom’s rights were terminated in 1996 and we were adopted into separate closed adoptions through the state of Utah. She is over 18 now (as am I) and I want to find her but her name was changed when she was adopted (as was mine) so I do not know where to begin. Do you know of any resources for locating an adopted biological sibling?

I’d start by googling and seeing if there is a Utah adoption reunification registry and register with them. We adopted DS in Florida and I registered with the state registry there just in case we lost touch with his bmom. There is also at least one national registry (International Soundex Reunion Registry) so that’s another place to try.
Plus I get the impression that lots of people now do this kind of thing through the internet. There are facebook pages for people seeking to find lost relatives. You might also go back to the agency who did the adoption, if you know it, and see if they can give you any information. Maybe that won’t be much because their hands are often tied by law. Try to write down any information that you have or remember, because it could be a useful lead.
Hope that helps a bit
